Review: So romantic!
My husband and I met in Disneyland in 1999. When we began
planning our wedding, we wanted to put a subtle Disney spin
to it, since it means so much to our relationship (we even
went to WDW for our honeymoon!) This CD inspired a number
of songs - I walked down the aisle to So This Is Love, but
played live by a classical guitarist, and we had the DJ
play this entire disc during the dinner part of our reception.
I truly felt like a princess, and it really made the evening
so special. I HIGHLY recommend it :)
Review: Great music for a fairy tale
wedding!
If you have the Disney Instrumental that is what this cd
is. If you never had it then you really need to get this
cd. I love it. Sometimes it's nice to have a calm cd, that
I love to play if I have a romantic dinner with my husband
(We honeymooned in Disney) Love this cd!!

Review: Wedding Ideas
I found the title of the book to be somewhat misleading.
When I actually got it and looked at it much of it seemed
to "Fairy-tale" like to be feasable for the common
person. It ws nice however to see some of the ideas....I
just thought it was more of a book for ideas and tips to
make a wedding perfect.

Fairy Tale Wedding (Paperback) (This is a novel.)
Book Description
Alex McAllister’s grandmother wants him to get married.
Unfortunately, Alex doesn’t believe in love or marriage,
but when his grandmother threatens to sell controlling interest
in his family’s company if he doesn’t abide by her wishes,
he concocts a devious plan to get his own way.
All he needs is an unsuitable bride, from
the other side of town, to teach his grandmother a lesson.
Will this stubborn bachelor teach his grandmother a trick
or two? The odds are against it. Though he matches wits
with company presidents every day, Alex finds himself greatly
outmatched against his conniving grandmother and his brideÂ’s
two precocious little sisters. He still might have a chance,
if only he can stop himself from falling in love with his
wife.
Review: Great Little Fairy Tale Wedding Story
Summer Barton didn't think things could get much worse.
Summer and her sisters, Raven and Amber, are living hand
to mouth as it is. This has been their way of life ever
since their mother took off and left the girls with Summer.
After getting fired from her job at a grocery store, Summer
finds her sisters in the car waiting for her. They have
to find another place to live now as well. So Summer decides
to take her sisters to Burger King for lunch.
Alex McAllister isn't having a very good day either. His
grandmother has had papers drawn up whereby she will be
selling some of her stock in the family business if he doesn't
marry within one month. Alex also has to remain married
for a period of one year. Alex was raised by his grandmother
after his grandfather and parents were killed when he was
three years old. He's pretty upset about this. He has no
intentions of ever getting married. He's not familiar with
the area he's driving through and pretty distracted and
slams right into an old beat-up station wagon.
Alex gets out to check on the woman. He can
see that they are dirt poor. Summer even turns down medical
care, even though she has a cut on her forehead. As Alex
is arguing with Summer, he gets an idea. He decides that
he should give his grandmother exactly what she wants. He
knows that it would not be possible to find a more unsuitable
bride than this woman: jobless, not married, with two children.
The McAllisters have money and he knows that his grandmother
will have a fit and will demand that he annul the marriage.
Summer can't believe that this very obviously
rich man has just asked her to marry him! When Alex offers
her a unbelievable amount of money to enter into a business
arrangement for a short period of time, Summer can't turn
him down. She knows how much this wil help her sisters to
finally have nice clothes, enough to eat and possessions.
So begins the comedy of errors as the girls
and grandmother plot together to make these two realize
that they were made for each other.
This is a wonderful little "feel good"
story, complete with the heartfelt sigh at the ending. I
love how the grandmother enlists the aid of the girls and
all the things they do to make the marriage a real one.
This is a great story and I recommend it to all lovers of
romance. If you're looking for something light and quick
to read with that "feel good" ending, this is
definitely the book for you!
Review: A Fairy Tale For Adults
A Fairy Tale Wedding is a Cinderella story for modern times.
Summer Barton is
a twenty-four year old woman who was left five years ago
by her mother to care
for her two younger sisters, Amber and Raven. This responsibility
turns
Summer's life upside down. She is forced to drop out of
law school and assume
the role of sole caregiver for seven year old Raven and
eleven year old Amber.
The trio have a hard life as Summer has no skills and makes
so little money
that there's barely enough to feed them. However, after
a horrendous day at
work followed by a car accident, Summer meets Alex McAllister
and her life
begins to change.
Alex McAllister is the heir to a Fortune 100 Company who
is set on rebelling
against his dominant grandmother. Upon meeting Summer, he
sees the perfect
opportunity and sets things in motion. What is Alex rebelling
against? How
does this change Summer's life? Read Fairy Tale Wedding
and find out. It is a
delightful, sweet story that will leave the reader with
a warm, fuzzy feeling.
Review: Very Good Read
I recently picked up this charming novel from a book store
in Cumberland Mall. I'd seen it there several times and
as a newly published author, I like to support and encourage
other new authors by purchasing their material. Natasha
did a great job on this freshman work. What a splendid fairy
tale indeed! As I read this book, it took me back to my
all-time favorite on-screen love story, "Pretty Woman."
Rich guy (Alex) meets poor girl (Summer) and in the middle
of what was supposed to be a business arrangement, they
fall madly in love. Alex doesn't want to face his love for
her and Summer leaves, not able to continue the facade as
she falls in love with him as well. In the end, Alex literally
rides in on a white horse to bring her back to be his wife
'for real'. It was a delightful and an easy read. The only
reason I'm not rating it five stars is because Raven, the
young and talkative seven-year-old in the story was just
a bit too unbelievable at times. Her character was strong
and she played a great role in the story, but her vast knowledge
and use of the English language was a bit much. Her underpriviledged
background coupled with her limited access to television,
books and her sheltered and inexperienced youth, made her
proper use of words and phrases such as 'quarsequal', 'dock
the pay', 'anticipated', 'trequel' and the like, seem too
advanced. All in all, though, "Fairy Tale Wedding"
is a very good read and well worth the literary journey.
Natasha proved that a black author is very capable of writing
a wonderful love story wherein all the major characters
are white. Great job, Natasha.
Review: Move Over Prince Chaming!
Alex McAllister is everything a current day Cinderella wants
or needs. And he's got the endearing idiosyncrasies to keep
her interested.
FAIRY TALE WEDDING is one heck of a read! With great characters
and an engaging plot, it's the perfect prescription for
anyone who's looking for a believeable fairly tale.
I started reading this book one day when I had a few minutes
to kill. I didn't put it down til the happy ending.
Hats off to Natasha Usher, a great new voice in romantic
fiction. I can't wait to read her next one!
Review: A True Fairy Tale
I recommend Fairy Tale Wedding as a read that will be difficult
to put down. This story was truly a fairy tale and a definite
page turner. The character development was wonderful, we
were given enough information on the characters to feel
emotions for them. I look forward to future work by Natasha
Usher.
Review: A Delightful Happy Ending!!
Fairy Tale Wedding is a great story, a one-night book (the
kind you don't put down until it's finished). It's a modern
romance with a Cinderella twist that will have you too believing
in happy endings. In Fairy Tale Wedding, Natasha Usher has
created a memorable group of characters, especially Raven,
the seven year old going on thirty, who will keep you thoroughly
enthralled. I hope there is a sequel in the works somewhere.
Review: Fairy Tale Dreams Happen
Reviewer: Vera Hurst (Atlanta, GA) - See all my reviews
I found Fairy Tale Wedding to be a delightful, heart warming
read. Contemporary romance isn't usually my thing, but after
picking it up <after a close friend suggested it>
I couldn't put it down. I have to admit that it's been a
while since I've believed in fairy tales coming true, but
Raven and her "minions" have helped restore the
hope that fairy tale dreams can happen...they just need
a little help!
Review: A Fun Read
Fairy Tale Wedding is a fun read. I chose this book as a
gift for my wife, and I ended up reading it myself. Normally
I am more of a Steve Martini type when it comes to reading,
but once I heard my wife laughing I had to see what she
was laughing about. Fairy Tale Wedding is both funny and
smart. Once I started reading I could not put the book down.
Review: A Touching Romance
A touching romance!
Fairy Tale Wedding is a polished gem from a new novelist.
It is filled with delightful likeable characters, from the
reluctant, stubborn groom, to the lovable but manipulative
grandmother, to the delightfully, charming seven year old
fairy godmother, Raven. It's a humorous romance, which keeps
you reading just so you'll see what happens next. It's a
touching romance that will indeed leave your smiling. |
